A Thought for Every Word

Lover’s Canvas

The form rises unfettered
brutal and beautiful
Capturing his oiled imagination
and dripping from his hands

The adonis stood before him
still and unmoving
Driving his turpentine desire
and stinging his eyes

Beauty cruel and wanting
silent behind the pigment
Casting naked longing looks
and promising love everlasting

February Musing

a blank canvas is not a work of art.

the white background more stark than any winter landscape.  void and empty.  absent of detail.  clean, crisp, clear.  not sullied by muted tones of watercolor dawns.  nor etched by charcoaled fingers.  no claret red or topaz yellow matisse line drawn.

a blank canvas is not a work of art.  it is unadulterated joy.
